24 Hour Home Care is now offering “Social Recreation Coaching,” a program that aims to facilitate socialization and recreational opportunities for individuals of all ages served by California’s Regional Centers. Examples of Social Recreation Coaching activities include, but are not limited to, practicing a sport (soccer, basketball, baseball, etc.), playing an instrument, or learning a craft. Please note that at this time, not all Regional Centers are approved for Social Recreation.

As part of the program, the family-selected care provider, or Social Recreation Coach, is trained to identify appropriate activities for individuals based on their interests and goals. Throughout the process, they work with the individual to achieve their personal goals, promote inclusion in a recreational space, and further the individual’s skill development. Social Recreation Coaching enables participants to learn and practice socialization while also having fun and feeling fully supported.
