24 Hour Home Care Brings “Wishpacks” to the Children of Harbor Regional Center
Last week, 24 Hour Home Care hosted a “Wishpack Giveaway” in collaboration with Harbor Regional Center, a California nonprofit that provides community-based services to individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. Throughout the month of July, the leading home care company raised over $2,100 to create “Wishpacks,” just in time for the beginning of the 2017 school year. Each “Wishpack” is a new backpack filled with school supplies, including pencils, notebooks, papers, markers and the like, in addition to well-wishes from the 24 Hour Home Care community in the form of “Wish Cards.”
On August 10th, the staff of 24 Hour Home Care and Harbor Regional Center gave away dozens of “Wishpacks” at the Regional Center’s Torrance location. Mothers, fathers, children and their siblings gathered to enjoy snacks and beverages, select their brand new backpacks and read the well-wishes from 24 Hour Home Care.
“I really like this card,” said 10-year-old Natalia C., “It says, ‘If you can get through the school year, you can do anything’ and I would like to think that’s true.”
