24Hr HomeCare will proudly show its support for the fight against breast cancer in the month of October. During this time, the company’s staff members will trade in their customary light blue polo shirts for pink ones to raise awareness for their 1^st Annual 24Hr In-The-Pink Breast Cancer Campaign. With this campaign, 24Hr HomeCare will donate 5% of the gross proceeds of all new clients in October to the American Cancer Society. In addition, the company will donate an additional $5 every time someone in the community asks about the pink polos.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer among American women, following skin cancer. Today, approximately 1 in 8 women will develop breast cancer in her lifetime and it is the leading cause of cancer death among women ages 35 to 54. Although these numbers may seem frightening, research shows that the mortality rate could decrease by 30% if all women age 50 and older received annual screenings.

To further our company’s mission of “helping people,” 24Hr HomeCare donated a portion of its gross proceeds to Direct Relief International: Japanese Relief and Recovery Fund. We have selected Direct Relief International because they use 100% of the donation for relief and rescue in Japan. No percentage of the donation will be used for additional fundraising or administrative costs.  In addition, owner Ryan Iwamoto will be matching the donation at 100% to double the contribution!

In times like these, we are reminded of how important and fragile we are and of the positive impact we can have – both as individuals and, collectively, as a Company – to assist those in need.

24Hr HomeCare was able to raise $2816.76 for the National MS Society. We would like to give special recognition to Diana Montesdeoca who personally raised $450!

Here are some pictures from the event:

On December 21, 2010, we brought the 1000+ toys over to the Westside Regional Center and set them up to hand out to families. We organized the toys based off of gender and age group. We then had the parents of the children come in to pick out the toys they thought would be appropriate. After picking out the toys, our volunteers gift wrapped the toys so the children would be able to open up presents at their homes on Christmas day!

Because of the  support, we were able to ensure that over 250 children did not have a giftless holiday.

The Memory Walk is held to assist with raising awareness and funds for Alzheimer research, care and support. 24Hr HomeCare has set its fund raising goal to $2,400 and team member goal of 25 people. 24Hr HomeCare attended the MS Walk for the second year in a row!! We were proud to be part of the thousands of people from the Southern California who came out to support a good cause. The 24Hr HomeCare team was able to raise a total of $1,758 to help the MS Society in the elimination of MS. 2nd Annual Holiday Toy Drive Benefiting the Westside Regional Center

24Hr HomeCare held its 2nd Annual Toy Drive benefiting the children and families at the Westside Regional Center. The Westside Regional Center’s mission to empower people with developmental disabilities and their families to choose and access community services that facilitate a quality of life comparable to persons without disabilities.
